New appointment system
At Puddletown Surgery, our ethos has always been focused on patient centered care and excellent access to the right person at the right time. Then the pandemic came along, and although we have seen people face-to-face throughout. We have also done much more remotely, by telephone, email and video consultations.
On top of that we have just changed our clinical computer system. This will mean that all GP surgeries in Dorset are on the same clinical system, which can also be accessed by the Emergency Department at the hospital, the out of hours service and other community services hopefully leading to improved care for you.
As lockdown restrictions are easing, we are changing our appointment system again!
Sadly, we are not able to restart open morning surgeries as yet, but we will keep this under regular review. You will now be able to pre-book either telephone or face-to-face appointments by calling the surgery. We will have a mixture of these appointments available to deal with urgent on the day problems and routine appointments. It may be necessary for the reception team to ask you a few questions to ensure we book you the correct appointment type. We have also increased the number of doctor sessions available, to try and continue to provide good access for you. Phone in times for urent on the day problems are 8.30 am and 15.30
Please bear with us as I’m sure we won’t get the balance of appointments right the first time and we may have to change things to try and ensure all patients get the right access at the right time, with the right person. We do hope to return to open surgeries again in the future.
Thank you so much for your help understanding and support.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
